The finally professed Brothers of the Philippine Sector gathered for On-Going Formation last March 27-28, 2015 in Davao. It was a grace moment for the brothers to pray together, to share stories, to recreate and to rest at the end of a challenging school year.

Some brothers were invited to share their experiences to the group.  Br. Rosendo Yee talked about the alternative apostolate in Buda.  Br. Hilario Sevilla gave an overview of the brothers’ mission with the indigenous people of Malutok.  Br. Edgar Ceriales informed the group about the renewal course he attended in Australia.  Br. Jose Torrecampo imparted about his life in Korea.  And, Br. Teodulo Fernandez spoke of the third age course he went to in Manziana.

Br. Karl Gaspar, a Redemptorist brother, was invited to be the guest speaker.  He facilitated the “Reflections on Consecrated Life According to Pope Francis”.  Making references to the writings, homilies and example of the Holy Father, Br. Karl helped the brothers confront the challenges facing the religious today.

Another significant part of the gathering was the sharing of Br. Wilfredo Lubrico and Mrs. Angelita Undar about the Marist International Mission Assembly (II MIMA) last September 2014 in Kenya.  This part highlighted the Statement of the assembly, which all the brothers should be made aware of.

The two-day event would not be complete without the time for socialization, swimming and relaxation.  Though difficult to organize because of the demanding schedules in the ministries, a get-together like this is indeed something many brothers would always look forward to.
