Province of Nigeria celebrated with Mrs. Salome Ifeoma Nnamani and her family

The Lay and Brothers, Marist Province of Nigeria celebrated with Mrs. Salome Ifeoma Nnamani and her family as her newborn baby boy, Otitochukwu (Praise God) Nnamani was dedicated to Church and God at the Marist Brothers’ Juniorate Chapel, Uturu, Abia State, Nigeria, on 21st May 2023.

It can be recalled that Mrs. Salome attended the International Forum on the Lay Marist Vocation that lasted from 4th-11th November, 2022. She participated actively during the Forum in Rome, even though, she was pregnant and expecting a baby then but that did not deter her in following the programme of the activities very well. She gave birth on 14th February 2023, three months after returning from Rome, Italy.

The Marist of Champagnat thank God for this special gift that God gave the Province, Africa and the Institute, as unborn child who was in the womb during the Forum, we believe that God will use him to radiate light, propel Champagnat Mission and Charism to the world, especially, to the most marginalized.

The Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Beneath Ike appreciated the parents of the boy for dedicating him to God and prayed for God’s special grace and wisdom upon him.

The Coordinator, Lay Marist, Province of Nigeria, Br. Elias Iwu, during the Eucharistic Celebrations thanked God as he commended the family of Mrs. Salome and requested them to ensure that they guide the new born baby very well as they did to their other children in order to be a role model. The coordinator further reminded them and the Faithful some connections the baby had with Marist, as the unborn baby who attended the Marist International Forum in Rome and also dedicated to God and Church on 21st May, the same date Fr. Champagnat was baptized by Fr. Allirrot in 1789.
