Province of Norandina

In August, the province of Norandina celebrated 125 years of Marist presence in Colombia. It was the subject of various initiatives which were widely publicised, and the web page created especially for the commemoration displays photos and videos of the event.

The Superior General of the Institute, Brother Emili Turú, attended the celebration. On 15 August, in Popayán, the centre of the celebrations, Br Emili offered his message to the laity and Brothers of the Province, recalling the challenges facing Marist life today and the proposal the Institute is launching for the Bicentenary of its Foundation, which will be held in 2017. Br Emili’s message can be heard in the accompanying video.

In addition to the words of the Superior General, the presence of the Marists of the Province, I emphasize the intervention of Br Libardo Garzón, Provincial, and the other brothers and laity invited from different countries: Spain, France, Italy, Canada, Brasil and Central America.
