The Specialization Course in Marist Spirituality and Patrimony (SPM), offered to Brothers and Laity, offers the opportunity to return to Marist sources and revisit the history, documents and teachings of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. The organization of this course is the responsibility of the Province of Rio Grande do Sul.

The first offering of the course will take place in 2012 and includes 3 steps in 3 days (May 2-4, July 2-4 and September 24-26), in Porto Alegre.

Through a profound study of the sources of the Institute, the participants will have the experience of being a Marcellin today through his mission and way of life. They will also have time for reflection and for reformulation of this patrimony.

The themes that will be worked on cover the life and work of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, the first Brothers, the Society of Mary, the Theology and Spirituality, and the historical, social, political and religious context of the times, the legal structure, Marist Pedagogy, the Marist History in Brazil, the Lay Marist, among others.

The classes in the first step will be given by Brother Claudiano Tiecher (Director of Marist College-John Paul II), and Brother Ivo Strobino (Provincial Secretary of the Marist Centro-Sur Province).
