Province of West Africa Solidarity Report
The Marist Province of West Africa presented the Solidarity Annual Report (September 2023 – August 2024). It marks a significant milestone in Province’s mission to foster unity and shared responsibility within and beyond the five countries where the Province is present: Cameroon, CĂ´te d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Tchad. The Report highlights the collective efforts of Brothers, lay collaborators, schools and Communities. It showcases the strides made in financial contributions and sponsorships to sustain our mission of service and education.
“Our mission, as a Province, about soliÂdarity is concerned is twofold: to provide access to quality education for children and young people who might otherwise be denied this basic human right, and to improve the malnourished conditions that afflict many families in our commuÂnities” says Br. Cyprian Bankakuu Gandeebo, Provincial, in the presentation of the Report.
Key themes of the publication include the launch of a new NGO in Ivory Coast aimed at broadening the marist impact, the dedicated service of volunteers in the initiatives of solidarity, and the fruitful participation in the Marist Mission Solidarity Assembly in Rome. Financial transparency is a cornerstone of this report, with detailed accounts of funds mobilized and utilized to support our educational and social projects across the region.
“While this report celebrates our accomplishments, it also recognizes the need for greater collaboration, innovative strategies, and enhanced communication to maximize the impact of our solidarity mission”, affirmed Br. Cho Nchang A., chair of the Solidarity team. And he continues: “This first step is both a reflection of our shared commitment and a promise to do better in the future, ensuring that no Marist community is left behind in our collective journey of solidarity and service.”
The provincial Solidarity team is composed of Brothers Cho Nchang A. (Chair), Harry D. Nyanti (Secretary), Jon Lavnge Nyuydine, Lawrence W. Doe, Mantobaye F. Kimingar and Pascal Funsa Birkem.
