Provincials of América Sur Launch Work Plan for 2025

The América Sur Regional Council met in Cochabamba, Bolivia, from February 2 to 4 to launch the 2025 Work Plan and address key strategic actions essential for strengthening the Marist Mission in the region. The meeting was attended by the Provincial Brothers Horacio José María Bustos (Cruz del Sur), José de Assis (Brasil Centro-Norte), Deivis Fischer (Brasil Sul-Amazonia) y Vanderlei Siqueira (Brasil Centro-Sul). Brother Pablo González, Provincial of Santa María de Los Andes, participated via videoconference, while Leonardo Soares, the Region’s Executive Secretary, supported the discussions and contributions of the group.

The agenda covered highly relevant topics, including:

  • The regional budget and team appointments.
  • Preparation for the regional assembly.
  • The regional reconfiguration project team.
  • Movements of the Inter-American Conference of Provincials.
  • The Tabatinga community.
  • The 2025 regional post-novitiate gathering.
  • The Provincials’ meeting in Rome.

One of the special moments of the meeting was the Admission of Novices to the Marist Regional Novitiate of Cochabamba on February 2. With the presence of the Regional Council, the ceremony reinforced the importance of initial formation and the continuity of the mission in the Region. The reconfiguration process proposed by the Institute continues to move forward, strengthening communion among brothers and laypeople while promoting spaces for formation and evangelization.

Each gathering, such as the one held in Cochabamba, reinforces the shared commitment to making Jesus Christ known and loved, especially among young people, through education and the living out of the Marist charism.
