Representatives of América Sur gather in Brasilia
Representatives of the América Sur region, chosen by their provincials, met in Brasilia on July 27 and 28 to establish a communication plan for the region.
Participants included Brother Paulo Martins of the Brasil Centro-Norte province and María Manuela Suassuna of the Brasil Centro-Norte province, acting as reference for the team in charge of implementing the New Models project and the team’s coordinator.
Irene Elías Simões of the Brasil Centro-Sul province, Lidiani Amorim of Brasil Sul-Amazonia and Leonardo Fraga of Cruz del Sur also took part.
The representative of the Santa María de los Andes province will be appointed in the near future.
The participants worked on a document, titled FODA, in order to begin analyzing the needs of the region.
They stressed the region’s diversity, with its different cultures, peoples and legislations.
They also discussed possible threats that are perceived throughout the region and within the different countries.
The meeting then looked at objectives and the budget that is available to carry out the regional communication plan. Participants debated the type of communication that they wish to focus on, established forthcoming meetings and delegated responsibilities and deadlines.
