Retreat in the Province of lHermitage

A group of 29 brothers of "mature" age made a retreat in rhythm with the celebrations of Holy Week at the Benedictine Monastery of the Miracle, from 1 to 9 April. The Sanctuary of the Miracle, amidst the peacefulness of nature, in the heart of the Solsonès region, favoured our living, prayers and rich reflections on Chapter II of the Constitutions which provided the content of the retreat.

In the mornings and afternoons we meditated on the content of the Constitutions, concentrating on the subject of our Consecration. Br Ramon Benseny animated the reflections, rich in experience and depth, with the explanation of evangelical and Marist doctrine and life. He offered us valuable panoramics which bring out the evangelical value written about in this chapter. Br Inocencio Martínez also treated us to an exciting and lively survey. He succeeded in filling us with emotion and spreading enthusiasm for our Marist consecrated life today.

Br Maurice Berquet, Provincial, accompanied us in this week. And on Sunday he gave his attention to our requests for what was happening in the province and family news.

Fr Cebrià Pifarré knew how to kindle our spirits in the conference-catechesis he gave us on the evening of Holy Saturday. We were full of hope, the experience and joy of the Paschal Vigil. The church filled to overflowing with the faithful. The celebration took two intense hours, culminating in the joy of the Paschal Alleluia. This celebration we returned to live on Sunday at midday.
