2017-10-14 COLOMBIA

Saturday, 14th October (Day 37)

Saturday, as in the previous three days, the capitulants continued the work of reviewing the revised text of the Constitutions and Statutes. A short time was also given to discuss a draft chapter statement on Child Protection.

The morning session began with Brother Emili, on behalf of the Synthesis Committee, presenting to capitulants a summary of the proposed wording changes or additions to various articles and statutes found in chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the revised Constitutions. Capitulants then had time for personal reading of the proposals, followed by discussion in table groups. In plenary, table representatives had the opportunity to comment on whether the group agreed with the changes or wanted to make others. A sounding was taken to ascertain the level of support for the proposals being made. The formal voting on the revised text for the Constitutions and Statutes will take place next week.

Protection of Children

Just prior to lunch, Matthieu facilitated a discussion on a proposed draft chapter statement on Child Protection. Time will be given next week to continue discussion on this topic.
