Socially responsible education
The Marist University of Valladolid is convoking the 2nd International Meeting on Education, to be held from 22 to 24 October 2013 in Morelia Michoacán, Mexico. Under the devise « A socially responsible education », the university renews its commitment to educational transformation while continuing contemporary reflection and debate among the various actors involved in the field of education. The Education Meeting is intended to be an academic domain which promotes reflective, deep and open dialogue between the agents of education and the society in which they are inserted, so as to envisage the best solutions to the grave and urgent problems current in our state and our country.
The Meeting also encourages new ideas on the most diverse points at the international level on education and contributes to weaving new networks fostering bonds between directors, teachers, professionals, parents and students. We wish all welcome ? old or new ? to this 2nd International Meeting on Education, in the search for a common goal : A socially responsible education.
The objectives are as follows :
* To present to the participants an alternative formation for teaching.
* To offer up-to-date and reliable information about the foundations and the perspectives of the changes and the range of new educational proposals.
* To make known the proposals of methodologies so that teachers acquire the concrete tools that can be applied in their institutions.
* To promote reflection on the challenges and the alternatives of the changes in the field of teaching.
The Meeting will offer the Educational Institutions the opportunity for promoting the practice of social responsibility within the organisations, since a socially responsible education is associated with the economic, social, cultural and scientific development of the country. The meeting will treat of four principal subjects to be developed in conferences, round tables and workshops.
