2008-12-18 GENERAL HOUSE

The General Council carry out its tasks

The General Council has communicated to the members of the General Administration the changes anticipated so that they can organise their calendar of activities for 2009. During this year it is expected that there will be three plenary sessions instead of two, but shorter. The first one would take place during the second half of the month of December 2008 and the first fortnight of January 2009. This plenary session, called ?the winter one has special features in the sense that it will begin earlier than usual and will finish earlier. The other two should be carried out during the months of April and June 2009. The exact dates have yet to be decided.

The calendar change comes about because the General Council has to prepare the Report which must be presented to the General Chapter. This report gathers together the policies and the more outstanding activities which have applied since the XX General Chapter until the present. When the text has been written it will be printed and sent to the communities, individuals and groups before the end of March. This report can then be used as an aid to reflection on the works of the next General Chapter. The task of writing up this Report should be finished by 5 January 2009. This means that during those dates the plenary sessions will not be held for any other matters.
