The Province of Brasil Centro-Sul presents its priorities
The Province of Brasil Centro-Sul (PMBCS) presented in August its priorities for the triennium 2024-2027, following the celebration of the VIII Provincial Chapter, which took place in Curitiba from July 24-27. The priorities established aim to face the current challenges and strengthen the Marist mission.
The planning for the next three years focuses on four fundamental themes:
Vocation: It’s worth being Marist today
This priority highlights the importance of vocation promotion and care for the lives of brothers and laity, emphasizing the value and relevance of being Marist in contemporary times.
Marist spirituality as a source of meaning and care for life and mission
The objective is to deepen the experience of Marist spirituality, promoting compassion and integral care for people, and integrating these values in the daily mission.
Integral ecology and solidarity in defense of life and care for the common home
In response to environmental and social challenges, PMBCS reaffirms its commitment to the protection of the most vulnerable, the defense of the rights of children and youth, and education for the care of our common home.
Evangelization: making Jesus Christ known and loved
This priority places Jesus Christ at the center of the Marist mission, promoting listening to and empowering children and young people, and strengthening the pastoral action of the Province.
“We hope that the Priorities will be assumed by all the Champagnat Marists of the PMBCS, both in the Religious Organization and in the Marist Group and its Mission Fronts. Thus, as God’s construction, we will offer to the many partners of the Marist Mission a New Hermitage”, declared Brother Vanderlei Siqueira dos Santos, Provincial, in the first circular sent to the Brothers of the Province.
