The Regional Novitiate of Cochabamba welcomes ten postulants

Ten postulants entered the Novitiate of Cochabamba (Bolivia) of the South America Region on May 1st, feast of St. Joseph the Worker. The young men were welcomed by Br. Rubens Falqueto, Master of Novices. Saturnino Alonso, provincial of Santa Maria de los Andes, was present at the ceremony, representing the five provincials of the South America Region, who were not present due to the cares related to Covid-19. Monsignor Carlos Curiel presided at the Mass of entrance to the novitiate.

The ten young men who will be making their first year of novitiate are: Bruno and José Augusto (Brasil Centro-Sul); Manuel and Ranielle (Brasil Centro-Norte); Alexandre, Enos, João Pedro and Juan Pablo (Brasil Sul-Amazônia); Daniel (Cruz del Sur) and Leandro (Santa Maria de los Andes).

The Brothers of the Novitiate Formation Team are: Rubens Falqueto, Master (Brasil Centro-Norte), Otalívio Sarturi (Brasil Centro-Sul) and Guillermo Mautino (Cruz del Sur).

“It is very significant that the entrance of the postulants to the Marist Novitiate should take place on this ecclesial feast, in the year dedicated to Saint Joseph, a man who had the heart of a Father and who trusted fully in God”, emphasised Brother Rubens during his words of welcome.

The image chosen for the celebration was the figure of St. Joseph and the Child God in the Year of St. Joseph (art by Br. Luiz Carlos Lima, Brasil Centro-Norte). The ceremony was broadcast on the social networks.
