Marist Brothers martyred in Spain
Last century, in Spain, a good number of Christians were murdered for their faith. The Church has recognized them as martyrs. Among them are several groups of Brothers.
47 Brothers belonging to the first group were beatified in 2007, in the Vatican, together with 451 other persons who had given their lives for the Gospel. 500 other martyrs – second group – will be beatified on 13 October in Tarragona, in Spain. Among them, 66 Marist brothers and two lay men.
