To deepen the meaning of life before God

On the 4th August, fifteen brothers between fifty and sixty-five years of age, coming from nine Provinces in Latin America and Europe, as well as a Marianist priest from Peru, started a spirituality course at El Escorial.

Coming from different cultures and different Provinces, we share the same desire to wish to live our Marist life as a gift from God, at a time when life makes us realise that amidst the joys and crises, there is truly a God who desires us. That is why the course?s approach is to give us the occasion to deepen the meaning of life before God. That brings us to savour the joy of living, to smile and to make us feel as brothers. These months will be, without doubt, a time of oxygenation to find our strength again and to follow our mission with more conviction and hope.

During the first week, we looked back on our lives, in the perspective of a history of salvation. We revised it according to the reference points provided by the animation team: our way as a person, as a religious, as a believer. To be able to share each day these experiences in a small group of brothers has enriched our experience all the more.

We have dedicated the second week to the theme of communication as the foundation of quality community relationships. The sincere and confidant participation of the group gave birth to a positive experience in our lives, by touching our hearts more than just being ideas. We have finished this week with the reading of the Superior General?s Circular, ?Marvellous Companions?.
