Two first professions in Mexico City

Brothers José Eduardo Maciel Mota and Miguel Osvaldo Pérez Argüello made their religious vows for the first time, according to the Constitutions of the Little Brothers of Mary, on Dec. 16 in Mexico City.

The Mass was presided over by Father José Francisco Magaña Aviña S.J. and included the participation of relatives and friends of the newly professed, as well as a group of Brothers who witnessed this important moment in the life of every disciple of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.

José Eduardo and Miguel Osvaldo made the first part of their two-year pre-novitiate in the city of Aguascalientes (Mexico) under the direction of Brother Juan José Ramírez Oliva and went on to six months of apostolic life in the communities of the Instituto México Secundaria and the Colegio México Bachillerato.

His discernment was guided during the two years of novitiate by the formation team led by Brother José Miguel Caballero. In Medellín (Colombia), they had the opportunity to experience the evangelical counsels, community life, manual work, prayer and moments of simple apostolic projection.

Brother José Sánchez Bravo, provincial superior of México Central, received the vows on behalf of the superior general and in his address, he invited the newly professed to make their hearts “beat to the Marist rhythm” as brothers do in places where children and young people are in a situation of greater vulnerability.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the Sub tuum praesidium was sung to place the newly professed Brothers in the hands of the Blessed Virgin.
