The fifth message of the Marist International Mission Commission has the title “Called and committed to work together as a network” and focuses on one of the key messages brought by the pandemic, already intuited by the last General Chapter: “world is truly ‘global’, the human family is interconnected”.

The author of the message, written on the basis of input from the Commission, is Br. Carlos Alberto Rojas, director of the Secretariat of Education and Evangelization.

The message asks the Marist world to engage in networking and alerts to the necessity to grow in this new way of live our life and mission: “Strengthening our networking will involve changes in thinking and in the way of doing things. Global challenges demand global responses.” It is a “call to extend borders, giving space to a collaborative and participatory mentality in order to dispel any possible apostolic inertia.”

The International team, made up of Brothers and Laity, took on the task of reflecting on the centrality of Marist mission in today’s world.

If you would like to share your thoughts, reflections or experiences with the Commission on this message, please write to fms.cimm@fms.it
