Verification of the election of Delegates

After the approval of the Verification Act of the election of the delegates elected by the provinces, a declaration of its regularity – which is officially made by the Superior General – is expected during the General Chapter.

The Verification Board met on Sept. 7 to prepare this document.

The Verification Board was elected by the Superior General and his Council last February and is made up of the following capitularies: Brothers Hipólito Pérez (Coordinator – América Central), Patrick McNamara (United States), Robert Thunus (West Central Europe) and Joaquim Sperandio (Brazil Centro-Sûl).

The task of this group, as indicated in paragraph 26 of the Statutes of the General Chapter, is to present to the capitular brothers the minutes of the election of the delegates of each Marist Province duly supervised. In case of any irregularity, it is the General Chapter that discusses and decides on each case.
