Visit to the Fratelli Project
Br. Pere Ferre, director of the Secretariat Brothers Today visited the Fratelli Project in Lebanon from 21 to 25 January, with Br. Carlos Gomez, the Vicar General of the de la Salle Brothers. It was the first visit made from outside the country after the war broke out in September 2024.
While there, Br. Pere and Br. Carlos met with the community composed of two Marist Brothers, two de la Salle Brothers and three lay persons. They are Br. Jean Aimie Claude Randrianasolo, FMS, Br. Juan Carlos Fuertes, FMS, Br. Guillermo Moreno, FSC, Br. Maurice Burasa, FSC, Jose Oliveira, Teresa AscensĂŁo and Zeina Eid.
They also had the chance to see the regular activities of the project, which were suspended due to the war and were reopened just before Christmas last year.
The war started when Israel attacked the south of Lebanon and caused the displacement of many people. During that period, the Fratelli Project initiated some humanitarian activities, which continue to the present, to help hundreds of families who had to seek refuge in the north.
