Young people take part in Compostela Youth Assembly

The 2nd Interstellar Youth Assembly ’24 brought together around fifty young people in Valladolid, representing the youth movements of the Marist Province of Compostela (MarCha and Scouts), the different local realities and representatives of the Provinces of IbĂ©rica, Mediterránea and L’Hermitage. The Provincial, Brother Máximo Blanco, and JosĂ© Antonio Rosa, representative of the European Region, were present.

On the first day, Saturday, September 7, the three themes that had the greatest impact on the local realities were addressed: Fraternity, Shared Mission and Going Out. The young people shared their experiences on these themes. They also had personal time to reflect and deepen how what was shared resonated with each of them. Then, in groups, some questions were answered: what do young people dream of and what do we need in these areas.

The next day, September 8, was dedicated to commitment, and seven commitments were chosen which the young people pledged to fulfill.

The meeting was also marked by moments of care and celebration, such as Saturday’s “sunset” under a “starry sky”; the concert by MarĂ© and abandAlegre which made the participants vibrate. Finally, the Sunday Eucharist brought together what had been experienced during those days and invited the young people to take it back to their local realities.
