Br. Edmund Louis Nwankwo was born on 16th December, 1938 at Mgbagbu Owa, Enugu State-Nigeria.

Novitiate: 8th January, 1957, Uturu
First Profession: 9th January, 1958
Final Profession: 9th January, 1963

Academic life:
College of Immaculate Conception, Enugu-Nigeria, 1959.
Teacher Training College, Ogbaku, 1960 – 1962.
Teachers Grade Two Certificate at Holy Ghost College, Umuahia, Abia State-Nigeria, 1970.
 Catholic College of Education, Sydney, Australia. Graduated with Diploma in Teaching.

Apostolic Life:
Teacher, Sacred Heart Parish Primary School, Iwollo from 1962 to 1978
Teacher, St. Mary’s Primary School, Iva-Valley, Enugu, 1978 -1980
He started Ghana Mission with Br. Michael Oruche on 9th March 1983.
He worked in Ghana (District of West Africa) for 22 years.
Teacher, Catholic Secondary School, Opoku Ware, Kumasi-Ghana
Established Marist International Novitiate Kumasi-Ghana with Br. Michael Oruche.
Started St. Joseph’s Secondary/Technical College, Ahuren-Ghana with Br. Michael Oruche.
Worked as Teacher, Bursar, Community Superior, St. Joseph’s Secondary/Technical College, Ahuren-Ghana.
Formator, Bursar, Procurator, Marist International Novitiate Kumasi-Ghana until 2003 when he returned to the Province of Nigeria.
In Nigeria, he worked as Bursar and Community Superior at Marist Comprehensive College/ Sacred Heart Community, Ezzagu, Ebonyi State.
Bursar, Marist Comprehensive College, Nteje, Anambra State until 2011 when he retired from active apostolate. His last Community was St. Joseph’s Community, Uturu where he lived throughout retirement until his death.
Br. Eddie, as he was fondly called, was a missionary par excellence. He gave his all, particularly in the establishment of the Ghana mission, which is currently Marist District of West Africa. We pray that the good Lord accepts his soul in His Kingdom.
