Thomas Maher

Born in Pakenham East to Victor and Anne, Tom was a Brother for 70 years. He was one of the few remaining Brothers who began his Marist life in the pre-1948 Australian Province, then was a member of the Melbourne Province for its entire existence and finished his life in the new Australian Province.

Tom lived and worked across the breadth of the Melbourne Province – in Victoria, SA, Northern Territory and WA, where he was the final Principal of New Norcia.

He completed his Novitiate at Mittagong and for the past 5 years has been a member of the community at Ashgrove. He was widely known, respected and loved.
