Christian out and about in the Brisbane Region

MaristOver 50 Year 12 students and accompanying staff from seven MSA-member schools across Queensland and Northern NSW gathered over two different weekends to participate in the annual Year 12 Marist Forums.

Br Tony Leon and Christian Nobleza from Vocations and Marist Life Team of the Sydney Province led the  experiences in Toowoomba and Yeppoon. The weekends were designed to deepen a sense of Marist spirituality and mission among our students in a creative environment. By offering opportunities to further develop leadership abilities as well as be engaged through guest speakers and dynamic conversations, the Forum enables participants to discover more about themselves with other young people in similar situations who are asking the question, “where am I heading in life?”

What some participants said:

“I have gained a better understanding of myself, what I value, what makes me happy and what I wish to change. I have gained new friendships and have an increased awareness of the great friends I have”

“My outlook on life has changed in a way that I am more open to be able to see where my vocation is coming from and that no matter what decisions I make, they will help me to achieve and understand what my vocation truly is.”

“It has been great way to immerse myself in the Marist community – it is a special and unique family. It was great to spend a weekend reflecting on my ideas of God, spirituality, faith and social justice and the applications to my everyday life”

Christian Nobleza works from our Brisbane office at the Lavalla Centre, and is frequently on the road connecting with senior students in the member schools and with post-school Young Marists of that Region. Recently he has been active in and around Brisbane and in Lismore.
