Easter at Marist Farmhouse, Sydney Province

EasterImagine a warm, sunny weekend spent in a serene environment with opportunities for prayer, liturgy, discussion and activity. That?s just how around fifty young adults and Marist Brothers spent Easter this year as they gathered to reflect on and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus. Within the community that was formed there was a sharing of faith, and a sense of belonging and friendship.

The Marist Easter retreat was held at the Farmhouse, Mittagong in the picturesque Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. The retreat began on Good Friday morning, 27th March and concluded on Easter Sunday, 27th March, 2005. The liturgies of the weekend were considered to be real highlights, especially the Stations of the Cross on Friday afternoon and the Easter Vigil mass on Saturday night. Other activities were presented as workshops and included discussion groups, craft and unique prayer experiences.

Easter at Marist Farmhouse now has a twenty-year history with the first gathering held at Easter in 1986. Over the years thousands of young people have participated in Easter at Mittagong.
