Hunters Hill Community

Here at Hunters Hill we have had two important events in recent weeks.

The first occasion was an invitation to eight boys and two teachers who are to go, in the coming school holidays, to Bougainville PNG. They joined our community for Mass celebrated with Father Ron Nissan presiding. During Mass the boys were inducted in a special ceremony. The ceremony consisted of prayers and the presenting of two items- a plate and a diary, symbols of their service, in spending two weeks at St Joseph’s School Mabiri where they will experience life in quite a different context.

This was followed by table fellowship with a beautiful meal shared with the Brothers community. A very memorable and enjoyable night for all.

The second occasion was on Easter Sunday when our community hosted lunch for our two visiting councillors from Rome – Brothers Michael De Waas and John Klein.

In addition, also in attendance were four Patrician Brothers from the Holy Cross Ryde community along with most of the Brothers from Drummoyne community with Brother Adrian Story from Ashgrove who was down for Br Brian Horton’s funeral. This was also a very enjoyable afternoon and our first hosting of Easter lunch with the Patrician Brothers.
