St. Francis Xaviers College Graduation Cerimony, Hong Kong

class=size-mediumAbout ninety-one Form 7 students graduate from Saint Xavier’s College, a Marist School in Hong Kong last Saturday. They are the students of the academic year 2010-11 terminating mid-July this year, but the graduation ceremony took place on 14 May 2011.

Brother Joseph Chang, the Supervisor of the school welcomed everyone, followed by Mr. Ho Ting’s the Principal’s Annual Report.

The guest of honour, Prof. Francis Ka-Leung Chan tells the graduating batch that studying hard is not enough and he challenges them to develop an international perspective for their development.  Prof. Chan is an alumnus of SFXC and is now professor of Medicine and Therapeutics, Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Associate Dean (Clinical), ad Director of the Institute of Digestive Disease, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and an honorary consultant physician at the prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong.

Mr. Lo Hok Lam, Colin represented his batch in expressing their gratitude to the Marist Brothers, and paid tributes to their teachers for facilitating them to explore the world of knowledge. Furthermore, he also thanked the parents for making their dreams come true. Lastly he asked his batch mates not to forget to be grateful to God.

At the end of the ceremony, the school Symphonic Band and School Choir performed a few numbers as tribute for the new graduates, while Brother Joseph Chang led the whole assembly in singing the School Song.

The said ceremony was attended by school managers, administration and staff, and parents of the graduating batch of Form 7 students.
