Today Marist Mercy Care celebrate over 1,000,000 meals!

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honour of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Marist Mercy Care honours this day with our own celebration as well. Since our beginnings, we have distributed over 1,000,000 meals to poor and vulnerable children and adults of the Sundays River Valley, Eastern Cape, South Africa. A momentous milestone we are grateful to celebrate with all our supporters and followers.

In 14 years, we have given hope and happiness to poor and vulnerable communities. We have educated over 20 230 children, 2 760 adults, cared for 800 sick and dying patients and provided over 282,450 meals during COVID-19 lockdown.

Thanks to your support, we continue to reach even greater milestones and celebrate today with a short video. Link to YouTube video.

As the picking season slows in the Valley, unemployment rates soar and hardship prevails. We continue reaching new heights and give thanks to those who continue making our mission possible.

Keep following our journey virtually via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our website www.placeofmercyandhope.com
