Br. Assis de Brito appointed provincial for a second term

On the feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, June 21, patron of youth and protector of students, the Province of Brasil Centro-Norte received from Brother Ernesto Sanchez, Superior General, the news that Brother José de Assis Elias de Brito has been appointed for a new term as Provincial Superior for the triennium 2025-2027. The General Council made this decision after analyzing the survey conducted among the brothers who make up the Administrative Unit.

Brother Assis will begin his second term with the celebration of the opening of the Provincial Chapter, scheduled for December 14-20 of this year.

In his letter, Brother Ernesto thanked Brother Assis for his availability to continue this service of animation. He also thanked all the Marists who make up the Administrative Unit: “I am grateful for your attention and the service that the brothers and lay people carry out in the Province”.

When he was elected Provincial for his first term in 2021, he was Animator of the Marist Community of Natal, member of the Committee of the América Sur Region, Director of the Marist College of Natal and member of the Provincial Committee of Corporate Governance of the schools of the Province. In the state of Rio Grande do Norte, he was also a councilor, coordinating the Council of the Association of Catholic Schools.
