Central America holds a training for young leaders

The School of Leaders 3 took place from July 12 to 19 in Guatemala, Province of Central America, under the motto “Disciples of Jesus, evangelizers among young people”. The meeting brought together 62 young people from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala who are currently developing their leadership in youth ministry movements in the Marist Province of Central America.

During this formative meeting, the young people participated in various activities focused on: strengthening their pastoral leadership, learning about the Provincial Pastoral Model, listening to the testimony of other people who work with young people outside the pastoral field, and making the culture of the country of origin known. And they closed with a Night of Art and Prayer.

During the development of the School for Leaders 3, the participants had the opportunity to participate in the Eucharistic celebration of the first religious profession of Brother Gerson Pooc who shared his joy of being a Marist and encouraged the young people to continue building their life project.

In addition to learning new tools, the School for Leaders 3 was a space for the different young Marists in the province to connect with each other, share their experiences and challenges, and encourage each other in their journey of service.

It is worth mentioning that a group of pastoral coordinators also participated in this meeting, who serve the mission in the Marist educational centers of the Central America Province.
