Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education
The Executive Committee of the Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education met in the General House in Rome, from 27 to 31 May, with the support of the Director of the Secretariat of Mission, Br João Carlos do Prado.
The participants were : Br Wilfredo E. Lubarico, co-ordinator, from the Philippines, María Manuela Suassuna Q. Lopes, secretary, from Brasil, and councillors Jaime Nieto Ramírez, from Mexico, Pablo J. Pardo Santano, from Spain, and Br Silvestre Jacob from Argentine.
The subjects touched on during these days of intense work :
* Life and mission since the 5th meeting held in Mexico.
* Follow up of the work groups.
* Situation of the documentation of the Network.
* Meeting with FMSI: presentations of Brothers James Jolley and Manel Mendoza.
* Planning and organisation of the 6th Assembly of the Marist International Network of IHEs in Koronadal, the Philippines.
* Presentation of Br Antonio Martínez Estaún on « Higher Specialisation in Marist Charism and Principles ».
* Proposal of creation and implementation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Network.
* The Executive Committee is committed to staying in contact in order to facilitate the best conditions for the next Assembly of the Network.
At the end of the meeting, Br Emili Turú, Superior General, shared with the group on the progress made since 2004, when the Network meetings began. The Committee was invited to continue the linking and strengthening of the Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education throughout the world.
