Marist Vocation Week: time to discern vocation

During the month of August, a period of the year in which the Catholic Church in Brazil calls attention to vocations, the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte organizes an annual Marist Vocation Week. These are seven days in which the theme of vocation takes up a space in schools and social schools so that teenagers and young people can access the path that gives them the full realization: the true vocation.

This year’s Vocational Week took place from August 14 to 18. The topic was Marist Vocation: Courage and Prophecy, under the slogan “Let’s dare to say yes”! The aim of the week was to encourage the Marist community to dare to say yes to the challenges of life and vocation, together with the mission of making Jesus Christ known and loved, as was the wish of the founder, St. Marcellin Champagnat.

Throughout the week, the Marist community shared experiences, reflected on different testimonies, and strengthened the bonds that unite Champagnat Marists – Brothers, lay people, students, and their families.

For Br. Fabrício Fonseca, provincial advisor for Vocation Animation, the period we are living in, is an opportune moment to think about vocation. “This year’s theme focuses our attention on finding our place in the world, discovering our vocation and how to put our gifts at the service, donating our lives for the transformation of society into a fairer and fraternal place for all,” he said.

The Province has also created spaces for interaction, through 3 channels:
