REBU 2006

On the 19th May, the Marist educational and social Centre (Cesmar – Joaçaba) realised a new edition of REBU, an event that allows about two thousand students from the region to fraternise by participating in activities and developing projects throughout the year. The gymnasium of SESI was once more the scene of a wave of good will and human warmth when hundreds of teachers and students came there to have a good time, to pray and to reflect on their participation in the construction of a more just society.

Having started in 1997, REBU is produced twice a year and is inscribed in the Programme of ?Happy Life? as an event of fraternisation and integration. In 2006, REBU took the following theme: ?Come to the centre!?

Brother Luciano, co-ordinator of Cesmar, explains that the theme invites everyone to participate more fully in solidarity movements, especially those of social integration. This subject has been taken on by the Fraternity Campaign.

The programme included moments for reflection, dance, theatre, social games, musical shows and a lot of other enjoyable items.
REBU 2006 was a time for living solidarity and equality, essential elements of a meeting that is more and more esteemed by the community, year after year.

Students from other schools have also had the chance to present items and to demonstrate their artistic talents by putting aside their timidity.

Fernanda Pereira, a student from the secondary school of São José de Herval dOeste, appreciated this chance of getting to know people from different schools in the region: ?It is a meeting of students from all the schools which gather together here.?
The meeting was held for secondary students.
