Denis Itumah
We regret to announce the sudden death of Br. Denis Itumah. Br. Denis died at 12:00 noon today 11th October, 2016 at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu-Nigeria.
He was rushed from Ire-Ekiti yesterday evening after developing complication and swollen legs. He died while the doctors and nurses were trying to resucitate him.
May the soul of Br. Denis Itumah rest in peace. Amen.

Br. Denis Itumah was born on 4th January, 1944 at Amoffia Ngbo, Ohaukwu L.G.A in Ebonyi State into the family of late Mr. Jack Itumah Oge and Mrs. Mary Ogba Egwu. He was the first child of the family.
Religious Life
Late Br. Denis entered the Marist Postulancy on 25th March, 1968. He started his Novitiate on 8th December, 1969. Br. Denis made his First Religious Profession on 2nd July, 1971 at Holy Cross Parish, Uturu. He made his Final Profession on 31st July, 1976 at Holy Cross Parish, Uturu. Br. Denis celebrated his Silver Jubilee in 1996 at Uturu.
Education
Br. Denis had his primary education at St. Philomena’s Primary School, Amaechi Ezzamgbo and Sacred Heart Primary School, Otinyi Ngbo from 1955 to 1961. He did his secondary education at Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Uturu and Bishop Shanahan College, Orlu from 1966 to 1970.
He attended Teachers’ College, where he obtained Grade II Certificate. Furthermore, he went to Open-Cast Mining British Polytechnic, Auchi for two years. Due to instability, Br. Denis transferred to Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State where he graduated with Higher National Diploma (HND) in Architecture and NCE in building Technology in 1984. He later went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) where he graduated with B.Sc Building Engineering/Education. Late Br. Denis went to Rome-Italy where he did Theology/Spirituality
Apostolic Activities
Late Br.Denis Itumah worked at Marist Comprehensive College, Nteje in 1998. He started the construction of the school buildings. From 1998 to 2004, he worked at Christ the King College, Abuja where he taught Technical Drawing. He started the construction of the boys’ hostel and staff quarters in CKC, Abuja. He was also the Superior of the Community. He was posted back to Marist Comprehensive College/Madonna Community, Nteje where he served as the Community Bursar for six years. Br. Denis has taught Technical Drawing for 27 years in different Marist Schools in Nigeria.
Br. Denis had great passion for youth empowerment. He coached them in different sporting activities. He was also a family planning instructor, member of Pro-Life and Nigerian Red Cross Society.
Until his death, Br. Denis was a member of Good Shepherd Community/Christ the King Catholic Marist College, Ire-Ekiti. He had suffered from arthritis for many years. He died at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu on 11th October, 2016. May the soul of late Br. Denis Itumah rest in peace.
