Br. Hipólito Pérez appointed for a second term as Provincial of Central America

The General Council has appointed Brother Hipólito Pérez Gómez as Provincial of Central America for a second three-year term, after having studied the results of the survey carried out in the Province.

Brother Hipólito will begin his second term with the celebration of the Provincial Chapter, scheduled for December 6-11, 2020.

“Let us all continue to walk together and build the global Family, as the XXII General Chapter has asked us to do”, declared Brother Ernesto, Superior General, in his letter sent on the 5th July to the Brothers of the Province, present in Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Puerto Rico.


Brother Hipólito Pérez Gómez born in 1965 in Dueñas (Palencia) in Spain. He began his journey in the Institute in the seminary of Miranda de Ebro. After the novitiate in Venta de Baños, he made the first profession in 1984. The same year he left for Central America. He completed his theological and professional studies in Guatemala.

He worked in the different countries of the Province, as an educator, animator of pastoral work, formator as well as in the area of accompaniment of the life of the Brothers.

From 2004 to 2007 he was a formator and master of novices in the Interprovincial Novitiate of Medellin, Colombia. He was also provincial of América Central between 2008 and 2013. Then, in 2015, he was appointed deputy director of the Brothers Today secretariat at the general administration.

In 2017 he was appointed provincial of Central America (first term).
