Accepting « to be called » by the God of life
The Marist Province of « México Central » held a meeting, from 2 to 4 December at Quinta Soledad, centred on vocations, starting with some life experiences. The participants were invited to see in them the footprints of the Lord and to be bold in looking at their life projects with God’s eyes.
The meeting began with some exercises in coming together and sharing. Those taking part learned more about their life journey thanks to stimulating questions and they laid it at the feet of Jesus.
The meeting revolved mainly around the call of Peter. The work was based on the methodology proposed by the Episcopal Commission for Vocations and Ministries. At the end of the meeting, each put down in writing his discoveries, what he had learned, with the aim of constructing his life project. Then there was a sharing in small groups which favoured the interiorisation and assimilation of what each had heard and experienced.
To close the meeting, the organizers presented the project of becoming a Marist candidate, as an opportunity for accompaniment in vocation, allowing the gradual discovery of the will of God and being in a position to respond to one’s proper vocation.
Youth in Marist schools are always invited to take part in the different sessions and movements connected with vocation. These propose the drawing up of a life project, in the light of Jesus, who, day after day, journeys with each one.
