#ChildRights_Maristas: hashtag for November 20

November 20, World Children’s Day, is a day dedicated to all the children of the world, the date on which the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959. After years of negotiations with governments around the world, religious leaders, NGOs, and other institutions, the final text of the Convention on the Rights of the Child was agreed upon on November 20, 1989, which is binding on all countries that have signed it.

The Secretariat of Solidarity suggests a simple action to show how the Marist Institute also participates in the task of remembering that children are the most vulnerable group and, therefore, the one that suffers most from the crises and problems of the world. The Secretariat proposes to Marists around the world publicize the actions that have already been organized, through their own social networks, at the local, provincial and regional levels. And it asks that they add in the posts the hashtag #ChildRights_Maristas to make Marists visible as a Global Family working for the defense of children.
