Do not be afraid: I am with you

On the 8th October 2006, Brother Valter Pedro ZANCANARO, native of the state of Santa Catarina, pronounced his perpetual vows in the Marist Institute. The celebra-tion took place in the city of Florianópolis. The same day, the brothers met with Brother Seán Sammon, the Superior General. More than one hundred brothers were present. The vows of Brother Valter Pedro Zancanaro were received by the Superior General himself.

The ceremony was held in the Champagnat Chapel of the Province?s House of Meet-ings and Retreats, decorated for the occasion with paintings and a new liturgical am-biance inaugurated for the occasion. It was a very beautiful ceremony in which not only the brothers took part but also the members of Brother Valter?s family and large representation of lay Marists and of young people from youth ministry groups who came to express their support and friendship for the newly professed by their pres-ence. Brother Valter chose the following motto: ?Do not be afraid for I am with you; do not be alarmed, for I am your God.? (Is 41,10)
