Evangelizing through education

The decrease in the number of religious, especially among women's congregations, has forced many congregations to hand over their works to other institutionsso that they may continue them.

So that the works do not end up in the hands of companies that do not have a commitment to Catholic education, the Province of Brasil Centro-Sur chose to incorporate some schools into its network of schools. The Province developed a system of economic and educational management giving place to the laity as protagonists. In the meantime, it is the responsibility of the Brothers to provide guidance from the central administration of the Province.

It is in this spirit that we are assuming the Sacred Heart School, founded and maintained until 2018 by the Vincentian Sisters, in Araucaria, a city close to Curitiba. During the vacation period, some adjustments are being made to the structure of the school, such as the formation of the teaching and technical staff, in order to work in harmony with the other centersof the Province.

The Catholic school cannot do the part of evangelization that corresponds to the family, but it can be of great support in the religious formation of the new generations. In this sense, even with educational models somewhat different from those of Marcellin Champagnat's time, and also due to the legal requirements of the country, we carry out his work, forming good Christians and good citizens of our time.
