Letters of Marcellin – 285

Marcellin Champagnat

1839-10-22

We do not know if Fr. Touzet wrote another letter between this one and that of 10th March 1837. If so, we have no trace of it. In any case, this second letter is much more appealing than the first, and lets it be understood that the brothers will soon take over the school in Aigueperse. Why this hope was never realized, we do not know.

Father,

The problems created by the assignment and departure of our brothers prevented me from answering sooner your interesting letter of 6th October. I hope you will please excuse this delay caused by the multiplicity of my tasks.

Your proposals and your request have been taken under consideration. We will be delighted to visit you during the first days of November. Perhaps God will give both of us the means to collaborate in the good work which you are already directing with so much zeal.

Please accept the assurance….
