Network of Memory Centers of South America meets in Santiago

The Management Committee of the Network of Marist Memory Centers of the South America Region held its first face-to-face meeting in Santiago, Chile, from September 26 to 28, to review the Strategic Planning and create a plan of action until 2025.

The members of the Network Management Committee were present: Marcos Rogerio, Dyogenes Philippsen, BelĂ©n Pissarello, Eder D’artagnan, Br. Genuino Benini and Francisco Flores.

The meeting began with a warm welcome to the members of the Committee by the executive secretary of the Secretariat of Life and Mission of the Chile Sector, Marcela Hormazábal. The participants then visited the Marist Historical and Patrimonial Archives. In the afternoon, the Steering Committee reviewed the Strategic Plan for the Network of Memory Centers.

On the second day, the internal regulations of the network were reviewed. Together with the members of the Committee, this day was attended online by network participants from the seven member countries of the region: Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. The Reference Groups of the Region, their development, how they relate to the Network, the role they play, and what initiatives they can promote in the Network were discussed. In addition, the Communications Plan was reviewed. Ernesto Reyes, delegate for Life and Mission of the Chile Sector, recognized the contribution of the Network in the South America Region.
The third day began with a guided visit to the Gabriela Mistral Education Museum in Santiago. Then, the Committee scheduled the dates of the next meetings and made progress in planning the 7th Meeting of the Network of Marist Memory Centers, which will be held next year in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
