Province of West Central Europe

On the 19th October the brothers in Belgium held their second Assembly at the "Unity" Centre at Rotselaar (Louvain), which is run by the Focolare movement. The goal of this day was to continue the reflection which had begun during the first Assembly at Rixensart (February 2013), about the reality of our Marist presence in Belgium. Patrice Gobert, a past pupil of the Marist Brothers in Saint Hubert, was the facilitator for the day, continuing the work he had begun during the first Assembly.

During the first Assembly at Rixensart the situation of the brothers who are sick or in need of care had been discussed. Now the focus shifted towards leadership and viability, taking into account the realities of the various places in Belgium where we have a presence. To think and, more importantly, to talk about these issues helps us to find realistic and suitable answers for the future of this part of our Province.
