Province Santa María de los Andes
On December 5, 8 lay men and women from the Lay Community “Cana” in a significant celebration, expressed their commitment and entered into the Deepening stage of the lay vocational itinerary.
The Community Cana is the first lay community which was founded in 2009, after the Experience of joint Formation for the Region of the Southern Cone; later other persons who had participated in the second Experience of Joint Formation carried out for the sector of Peru, integrated into the community. Then they began a community journey, sharing life and prayer, oriented by the community project.
The itinerary of growth in the lay vocation is a guide that proposes a series of experiences structured in stages, the end of which is to help lay men and women begin a journey of human-Christian growth within Marist Formation, by being faithful to the dream of Marcelin. It contains 4 stages: Invitation, Initiation, Deepening and Binding.
In the Deepening stage, the lay person lives an intensive time of deepening in his lay vocation, shaping the lay features of the follower of Christ according to the style of Mary and of Champagnat.
Br. Saturnino Alonso, Provincial of the Province Santa María de los Andes, received the commitment of the lay men and women, manifesting his support, how significant it is for the Province to live the communion between Brothers and Laity, and he asked us to be signs of fraternity.
Br. José Ticó, member of the Cana community, handed to each lay person the image of our Good Mother, as the symbol that she will be their companion on the road during this new stage.
