Renewal for the mission

The traditional meeting of the four General Councils of the Marist Family was again held at the start of 2007: Marist Sisters, Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary, Marist Fathers and Marist Brothers. The place chosen was the brothers? house at Manziana where the meeting took place on the 12th and the 13th January.

The subject chosen this year was ?Renewal for the mission.? Each of the Councils had forty minutes to present a) what it has done to bring about this renewal; b) the difficulties encountered or the questions that arose. From these rich presentations, the Assembly had the opportunity to respond to the question: ?To what are we called to collaborate as a Marist family for the renewal of the mission??

There was also time for each of the commissions formed by members of the different branches to be able to present what was done in 2006 and its project for 2007.

Times of prayer in common; spontaneous and fraternal sharing at meal times or during free time; a joyful and simple evening on the 12th? all of that contributed once more to tightening the bonds of friendship and fraternity among the members of the four General Councils. Without any doubt, this weekend?s meeting contributed to the personal renewal of each of the members of the Councils, always in view of the mission that has been entrusted to them.
