To Bloom anticipating Spring

From the 21 to 23 of December, 26 Brothers, under the motto ?To Bloom anticipating Spring?, participated in the XVIII Provincial Chapter of the Province of Western Mexico.

Besides de members of the Chapter, other Brothers and lay persons participated as observers.

Others were also invited: Eugène Kabanguka and Víctor Manuel Preciado, General Councilors; Ricardo Reynoso, José Sánchez, Luis Felipe González, Javier Salcedo ? of the Province of Central Mexico; Luis Carlos Gutiérrez, Provincial of Central America. Sister Martha Chica, Regional Superior of the Marist Sisters also participated.

The first day of the Chapter was marked by the report of Br. Eduardo Navarro de la Torre at the end of his service as Provincial. He underlined the achievements of the last three years.  He invited the Brothers ?to shape the features of the Province that we want, not only with documents or proclamations but also with the cooperation of the heart?.

The second day was marked by the Eucharistic celebration during which Br. Miguel Angel Santos assumed the charge as new Provincial.

On the 23rd, four Councilors were elected who will accompany Br. Miguel in his work in charge of the Province.  The two remaining Councilors will be elected by Br. Provincial.

Br. Eugène Kabanguka, link of the General Council with the Province, underlined the importance of the vocation of the religious Brother and, in a symbolical gesture, he handed over to Brother Miguel the recent document of the Vatican on this theme, as well as a backpack, which symbolizes his pilgrimage on his mission as Provincial Superior.
