Vocational ministry: commitment of the Marists of Champagnat

The city of Armenia, Colombia, received 44 Marists of Champagnat from July 12 – 16, which met for the Third Formation Experience promoted by the Norandina Province.

The core of the experience was the central theme of the Marist vocations ministry.

With 21 Brothers and 23 Marist laity six small communities were formed: La Valla, Helamar, Fourvière, Osados, Marist Aurora and New beginning.

Participants focused their reflection in subjects like: my personal life, my Marist history, vocation spirituality, vocation anthropology, vocational culture and accompaniment.

Dynamics consisted in having a first moment of enlightenment, which is why Brother Natalino de Souza of Umbrasil participated.

Provincial brother César A. Rojas Carvajal welcomed participants and presented the path that the Institute is walking in the Arco Norte region and in the province.

Brother Javier Espinosa, director of the Secretariat of the laity, presented the participants with the history of the Marist laity and the proposal that is being offered to the General Council with the basic elements for designing a global framework of the Marist vocational process for lay people.

Finally, the topic of vocational accompaniment was covered, based on the passage of the visitation of Mary to Saint Elizabeth.

Finally, a synthesis was made of the reflections made during the days of the meeting and the steps that the new dawn invites us to give.
