Young Marists Pruning Retreat 5-9 July

Young Marists

Young Marists aims to enable and animate a network of young adults who share some kind of connection to the Marist story (for example, former students and young teachers of Marist schools), but also those who have been attracted to the Marist charism at some point in their lives. With Young Marist groups spread around Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra there are many opportunities to get involved and keep alive your Marist connection.

Young Marists Pruning Retreat 5-9 July

hspace=5The Marist Dozen arrived at Mittagong on a chilly winters day on Monday 5th July to take part in the annual Young Marists Pruning retreat. Facilitated by Fr Brian Mascord & Br Tony Leon, the group was cheerfully trained by the Hermitage vineyard manager Martin Elferink and Garth in the finer art of vine pruning. For the next 4 days, the group entered into the contemplative mode of solid days work, communal liturgies and faith sharing and the well known and delicious hospitality of the Hemitage community. When asked what would one take from this retreat, one of the retreatant described,

The experience of an intimately built community, sharing in laughs, prayer and table fellowship. Personally, an openness to listening more frequently to the voice of God in my life. Thanks for a wonderful week.
