A great privilege to be among the first Marist Lay Missionaries

It is great to be accepted to Mission Ad Gentes for Asia. It will provide me the opportunity to work with the Marist Brothers and fellow Marist Lay Missionaries with the same heart and mind to be the bridge to build unity and community among people of different nationalities, cultures and beliefs in the midst of a very divided world. It is a response to the Marist Brothers call to extend the boundaries of love and unity beyond our little world. What you leave behind is not whats engraved in stone monuments but whats woven into the lives of others, says a Greek orator. The Brothers love, dedication and commitment to the children and young people they serve, speaks to me of how true the statement is. It is a great privilege to be among the first Marist Lay Missionaries on the VII Ad Gentes Program. Jesus is inviting me and others to go on this missionary path to be channels for others of his inclusive acceptance and hospitality after the fine example of Mary, our Mother and Marcellin Champagnat, the Founder of the Marist Brothers. Together we will cross borders and be brothers and sisters to children and young people especially the less advantaged whose lives we will touch and with whom we will experience the Lords presence in the community of his people. This way our lives will be mutually enriched and this way too the spirituality of Marcelin Champagnat that of simplicity will live on in the lives of the people in generations to come.I am placed in Bangkok, Thailand. _________________Alice Lee from MalaysiaDavao, 14th September 2010
