Br. Evaristus Kasambwe

Br Evaristus Kasambewe, of Malawi (Province of Southern Africa), will become part of the community of Prévessin-Moëns, as from 1 October. He will work with the other brothers of this community in the FMSI office in Geneva. Appointed by the General Council, he brings to the team his international experience and the important contribution of the situation in Africa.

Biography of Br Evaristus

I did my secondary school education at Mtendere Juniorate, presently known as Marist Secondary School, in Malawi from 1981 to 1985. In 1985 I started my brotherhood formation till I made my first profession on 1st August 1987. I then went for my scholasticate in Nairobi the same year 1987 and finished in 1990.

After scholasticate I worked in Malawi at Mtendere Juniorate. I worked as a teacher and headteacher till 2002 when I was elected Provincial Councillor of the Province of Southern Africa for two consecutive terms. In the course of my mandate as Provincial Councillor in 2006 I went to work in Haiti at the Postulancy for 9 months.

From 2007 to end 2009 I worked in Malawi as Postulants Master. From January 2010 to March 2011 I participated in the Mission Ad Gentes in Canada, New Brunswick. When I came back in 2011 I worked at Marist Secondary School as teacher and headteacher.
