Brasil Centro-Norte promotes another edition of the Vocation School

Under the co-ordination of the Department of Marist Vocations Animation of the Province of Brasil Centro-Norte, the Marist Vocations School took place from the 18th to the 23rd January, in the virtual format with more than 64 participants.

In collaboration with the Conference of Religious of Brazil and the Catholic University of Brasilia, during the course of the week there were significant moments of exchange, workshops, conversation circles, moments of prayer and a great deal of dialogue, especially with the young people. These moments were experienced on the basis of two formative themes that underpin the purpose of the School.

They dealt with concepts that helped the participants to explore in depth the various topics related to Vocational Animation.

The School offered advice on “Analysis of the Social Situation”, “Looking at the Church through Pope Francis – young people and Amazonia”, “Socio-emotional perspectives in vocational accompaniment” and “Virtual Vocational Accompaniment”. Workshops were also held on “Life Project”, “Affectivity and Sexuality”, “Social Networks” and ” Corporality”.

The virtual space-time of the Vocational School provided new ways of acting for the vocational animators, and helped them to understand the needs and specificities of each candidate entrusted to them.

The Vocational School, promoted by the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte in collaboration with the Conference of Religious of Brazil and the Catholic University of Brasilia, is the only school-project of Vocational Animation in Brazil, and involves every year about fifty congregations.

In the 15 years since its inception, the School of Vocational Formation has received 737 participants from all over Brazil and the world. The innovative project is a way of meeting the demand for Vocational Animation processes, and offers participants self-knowledge, understanding and preparation, both personal and professional.
