Brasil Sul-Amazônia promotes activities to celebrate the volunteering

In Brazil, August 28th is celebrated as National Volunteer Day. The Province of Brazil South-Amazonia promotes this date by linking the theme of volunteering with the Year of Marist Vocations and has proposed as the inspiring theme of the activities the phrase Vocation to Solidarity.

This is an opportunity to reinforce that volunteering is a favorable space to respond, individually and collectively, to the call that God makes to each one to contribute to the construction of a more just and fraternal society. “Volunteering is one of the ways in which we can experience a love that reaches us, touches us, frees us, and transforms us, making us become new people,” explains Renato Biasi, the Province’s Volunteer Coordinator.

Several activities have been organized in the schools and social units to highlight the importance of volunteering. In addition, on the 28th, in the Marist establishments there will be meetings, moments of prayer, panels, cultural presentations, tributes, conversation circles, Eucharistic celebrations, confraternizations to mark National Volunteer Day.
